The recent budget crisis has made it clear that parents, families, and the local community will need to continue to support our schools and fund the gap left by state budget cuts. We have lead successful fundraising events in the past and many of those will continue, meanwhile, we hope that you will participate in our Annual Giving Campaign specifically to support the 2011-2012 Academic Enrichment Programs.
Our goal for this year is $30,000. As of January 7, 2012, we are at $17,452.

The PTA supports many school activities, examples of which include the following:
Music: Classroom Music, Opera in a Box, and Band
Art & Science Docent Programs
Playworks (formerly known as Sports4Kids)
Classroom Stipends for teachers and staff (supplies and field trips)
How will the money be used?
The money will be specifically designated to fund academic enrichment programs for the 2009-2010 school year. Every effort will be made to spend the money for the current school year. The money will not be used for capital improvements or school community spirit activities.
What is the suggested donation?
$300 for the 1st student and $100 for additional students attending Willow Glen Elementary.
Do I have to donate the suggested amount?
No. Any amount donated will be appreciated!
Is this to join to PTA?
No. PTA membership is $10 per member and is a separate payment. We encourage all families to become members of the PTA whether or not they contribute to the Annual Giving Campaign.
Is this a new campaign?
No. In the past, we have asked for donations to the PTA over and above membership dues. (PTA Pledge Drive). The name, however, is new as is suggesting a dollar amount, committing to spend the money in the school year donated, and specifically designating the money for academic programs.
What do other local public school groups suggest as donations?
Bagby Elementary (Cambrian School District) - $150 for each student Williams Elementary (SJUSD - Almaden) $300 (1child); $600 (2 children); $900 (3+ children)
Discovery School (Moreland School District ) - $500 for each child
Payne Elementary (Moreland School District) - $100 for each child
Los Altos - $700 (1 child); $1400 (2 children); $2100 (3+ children)
Los Gatos - $600 (1 child); $900 (2 or more children)
Saratoga - $700 (1 child); $1400 (2 children); $2100 (3+ children)
Can I make my donation in monthly installments?
Yes. Credit card payments can be divided into monthly installments. We now take VISA, MC, AMEX and Discover.
Can I have input into how the money is used?
Yes! Please attend PTA meetings as we seek ways to support academic excellence at WGE.
Can I seek Corporate Matching from my Employer?
Yes! Please check with your employer on the requirements of Corporate Matching. Companies have different policies on whom and how they match their employees Charitable Giving.
Can I deduct my donation on my tax return?
Yes, in most cases but check with your Tax Advisor. The WGE PTA is a tax exempt organization under IRS Code 501 (c). WGE PTA Tax I.D. #94-6174790
